Exports from the UK creative sectors reached £13.2bn in 2016.

According to the UK’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS), the value of the creative industries to the UK is up from £94.8bn in 2016 to £101.5bn now and has grown at nearly twice the rate of the economy since 2010.

The government’s ambitious target is to increase the number of exporting creative businesses across the UK and to boost creative exports in goods and services by 50% by 2023. To boost creative exports, the UK’s government set up the Creative Industries Trade and Investment Board (CITIB) in 2018.

So far, the Board has helped to promote the UK’s creative sector in 10 countries including China and the United States, generating a pipeline of more than £200 million of export opportunities.
