Both parents work in 30% of European families and in 62% of U.S. families with children.

The proportion of homes in which two parents worked full-time was rising steadily all over the world. Even in conservative Japan, dual-income households are on the rise.

The shift has been enabled by more egalitarian views about gender equality among managers as well as by flexible working options in more and more companies.
