The potential market size of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) with 1.2 billion people is expected to reach $2.3 trillion.
The AfCFTA came in to force on 30 May 2019.
Aiming to create a free trade region among the African Union members, AfCFTA will become the world’s largest free movement and single-currency union.
So far, 52 countries have signed the preliminary endorsement and 22 countries have ratified the agreement or received parliamentary approval.
