BOE Rates Increase
The Bank of England has raised the interest rate for only the second time in a decade. The rate has risen by a quarter of a percentage point, from 0.5% to 0.75% – the highest level since March 2009. – BBC
The Bank of England’s MPC raised rates to 0.75 per cent on 2 August, casting aside worries over the consumer economy and a no-deal Brexit. In BoE’s opinion, low unemployment and reduced slack merited a hike to keep inflation on target. – This Is Money
